JW Marriott – Amanda + Miles – Las Vegas Wedding Videographers

Miles is an Engineering Technician for Nevada’s Department of Transportation and Amanda is completing her final months of Student Teaching with UNLV and will begin her teaching career in the fall. They met through mutual friends when Amanda was a senior in high school. For Amanda, it was truly love at first sight. For Miles, it took him a while to realize Amanda wasn’t just joking around.

“The most memorable thing we can remember from our wedding day was how many people wanted to share their love for us by saying something sweet or sharing a fun memory for everyone to toast to,” recalled the couple. “One moment from our wedding, that we still can’t stop thinking about was being able to see and spend time with each other before the wedding. It was special and intimate moment between the two of us that we will always cherish,” said Amanda and Miles.

“Our three favorite details from the wedding were: 1, Jessica, our onsite coordinator from Tory L Cooper Events. She was beyond amazing in helping everything come together and making sure we were able to enjoy every single second. 2, the service JW Marriott provided went above and beyond our expectations. Their staff was so kind and truly made us feel like royalty on our wedding day. (They even went so far as to make sure Miles got the last bottle of his favorite beer) 3, Arlene and Stefan from Sound Fusion Entertainment, they chose an amazing selection of music that had every single person up and dancing. While we were eating dinner, I kept finding myself saying, Oh my gosh, I LOVE this song, for every song they played! It was truly magical that they were able to choose such great songs, just by going off of different genres we liked,” Amanda recalled.

“If we could offer one piece of advice to other couples planning their wedding, it would be to remember that this is a day to celebrate the love you have for each other. Do what makes you smile. If you both want to do a first look and get your nerves out before the wedding (which we highly recommend!), then go for it! When your guests see how much you love your wedding, they will love it just as much,” explained the couple.

“The key factors that helped us choose the venue for our wedding reception was location, design, and accommodations. With both of us growing up in Las Vegas, we wanted to get married somewhere that was far from the strip. We also wanted a venue that was all inclusive and able to keep all of our guests together to celebrate the weekend. The design of the hotel and ballroom was simply stunning. As soon as we walked into the Valencia Ballroom, we knew that this is where we would get married. Lastly, we ultimately choose the JW Marriott because of the amazing vendors they choose to do business with. Every company was highly recommended and provided amazing service,” recalled Amanda and Miles.

“I found out about Memory Lane Video from a wedding convention that I had previously attended when my Maid of Honor was getting married. We had taken a break from walking to watch a fashion show to get some ideas for a wedding and bridesmaid dresses. The fashion show had opened with a Memory Lane Video and it had us both in (happy!) tears over strangers we had never even met. I knew that when I got married, Memory Land Video would be the special thing that I would splurge on, and I’m so glad we did,” said Amanda.

“Now that the wedding has commenced, we have learned that even though the planning and wedding crafts seemed to always pile up and never end, every bit of stress and decision making was completely worth it, seeing everything come together the way it did. We can happily say that we absolutely loved every second of our wedding and have no desire for any sort of “re-do”. The things we thought were most important for our wedding are the things that we’ll get to look back on and remember. 30 years from now, we probably won’t remember the flowers that were used, but we’ll always have pictures and an amazing video that we can look back on and remember how amazing our wedding was. Things that we think were not worth the stress was the guest list; more specifically stressing over things that we had no control over. We learned throughout our planning process that we can’t dwell on things that we can’t control. Thankfully, the Marriott was awesome with accommodating our ever-changing guest list and making everything come together smoothly,” explained the couple.

“Some advice that we can provide to future couples in planning their wedding is to pick a few things that are most important to you and budget around those. ALWAYS number the back of your wedding reply cards because so many people will forget to write their name on them and it makes it a lot easier to find out who replied. Lastly, don’t forget that this is a special day for you and your significant other. Even if they say they don’t care about flowers or music, ask for (and value) their opinion on every detail because this is their day too,” said Amanda and Miles.

“We chose to book Memory Lane to create our wedding video because of their professionalism, quality, and talent when it comes to catching those special details that are so unique to a wedding. Long before we were engaged, I would always watch and admire the wedding videos they created for other couples and couldn’t wait to be able to one day have our own video to watch. When considering our wedding video, we never considered any other wedding video companies to film our special day. Before meeting with Ricky and his staff, we could see from the quality of the videos that this was a company we wanted to use. After seeing their professionalism and dedication to detail, we knew that this was the only company we needed to consider.” Amanda recalled.

“On the day of the event, we most admired how professional Memory Lane was throughout the day. They had a plan that we discussed in full detail before the wedding, and the staff all carried notes with them to stay with the plan. I (Amanda) also adored how one of the videographers told me funny stories to help calm my nerves while I was waiting for our first look. We think it is completely necessary to not only have a video that you can look back and view, but to also use Memory Lane Video to create it. Their equipment and skill makes the difference between remembering and seeing the magic on your wedding day than just seeing the events of your day,” explained Amanda and Miles.

Amanda and Miles and both full time students and took a mini honeymoon this past Christmas break at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. They wanted to do something fun for just the two of them and enjoy being kids again. They hope to take a full honeymoon this summer somewhere tropical and soak in the sun.
