Lauren is a publicist working with beauty, entertainment and nightlife clients at the boutique public relations firm Wicked Creative. Shaun is a manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Shaun and Lauren initially met briefly when they were in high school, and met again through mutual friends when they both attended the University of Nevada, Reno. They spent many years as “just friends” until the summer of 2010 when sparks finally flew! Their first official date wasn’t until a few months later, when Shaun took Lauren to Sterling’s Steakhouse in Reno for Valentine’s Day. 10 days later, they were officially dating!

“The moment we can’t stop thinking about is the ceremony. Even though we decided to have a first look, it was still magical walking down the aisle and seeing all of our friends and family around us. Immediately following the first look, it began to sprinkle. we immediately began to panic, as we were worried that we would have to move the ceremony indoors, but the sprinkling subsided, and we were left with a nice cool temperature (unusual for late May in Las Vegas) and the sky looked beautiful – with hints of purple and blue in the clouds. As we walked down the aisle, the air felt magnificent as the birds chirped – it was magical! Even after doing a first look, the moment when our eyes met was unforgettable,” recalled the couple.

“Our first favorite detail from the wedding was the fun we had! We will never forget dancing the night away in our gorgeous formal wear, being silly in the photo booth and spending time with friends and family who have traveled from all over to support us. Second, we loved the way the room came together at Emerald at QueensRidge. The flowers, the décor, the lighting – everything was perfect. And third, we loved the ceremony. It was relatively quick, but so beautiful and special,” said Lauren and Shaun.

“The best advice for couples planning their wedding: HAVE FUN! Don’t sweat the small stuff, seriously. Take a private moment with your new spouse to take it all in and appreciate the moment, then take over the dance floor and have a ball! Aside from that, it is SO important to document the day! At the end of the day, couples will be left with their photography and videography – so it so important to make it a priority,” the couple explained.

“We chose our wedding venue the day we got engaged! We got engaged the morning of February 24, 2013, and that evening we were already having fun with the wedding planning process. We went to several websites of wedding venues, and we were very intrigued by Emerald atQueensridge. We made an appointment for the following week to check it out, and went ahead and booked our date! We enjoyed the fact that Emerald at Queensridge made it easy for couples to plan their weddings, since so many vendors and services are included,” recalled Lauren and Shaun.

“We LOVED our flowers from Blossoms byGayle! They were seriously gorgeous and she was amazing to work with. Also – Rolling in the Dough bakery made us the perfect cake based on a photo we had showed them on Pinterest – it was spectacular!” said the couple.

“No w that the wedding has commenced, we knew that the most important part of our Wedding Day was to celebrate our love and have fun on the first day of being husband and wife! It’s very easy to get wrapped up in the little things, but you need to stay focused on the big picture. On the Big Day, you have a lot of people that want to talk to you, pictures that need to taken, a cake that needs to be cut, etc. We made sure that we got all of the important stuff out of the way and then hit the dance floor! There wasn’t too much that was stressful for us, fortunately. We think we spent a little too much time concerned about the logistics of our wedding weekend – how everyone was getting around, if everyone is on time, etc. But in the end, it all worked out!” Lauren and Shaun explained.

“The best advice for other couples is to not get wrapped up in the little details. Spend time with each other throughout the wedding planning process. Leading up to the wedding, we planned fun date nights – even if it was just pushing back our furniture in the dining room to practice our wedding dance moves – that’s what really counts. The most important part of wedding planning is to love and spend quality time with your future spouse!” said the couple.

“We first saw Memory Lane Video at a bridal show pretty quickly after we got engaged. We were so impressed by the quality of their sample videos, so we took their contact information to set up a meeting. We wanted to book a videographer because we wanted every moment of our Big Day captured. A lot of brides decide not to have a videographer so they can cut costs – but photography and videography was so important to us! All of the other details, like the cake, flowers and favors, will be gone at the end of the day, but you will always have your photos and video to look back on!   The day we received our wedding DVD from Memory LaneVideo, we invited both of our families over for a watching party. It was so special to relive that day with our loved ones,” said Lauren and Shaun.

“The team from Memory Lane Video was awesome to work with. They captured all of the special moments that we will always think fondly of – but most of the time, we could hardly tell they were there! They made the day stress-free, and were not intrusive when trying to get their footage. We were very impressed by the Memory Lane Video team, and ultimately, the work they produced,” the couple explained.

Video is so important! If you decide not to use video, you can never go back in time to capture those moments. We are so excited to have this video forever, and we look forward to sharing it with our children one day. We would highly recommend Memory Lane Videoto all couples who are planning a wedding (in fact, we already have!) The service and quality of Memory Lane Video is unparalleled,”said Lauren and Shaun.

“We left for our honeymoon two days after our wedding – it was magical! We spent nine days in one of the butler suites at Sandals Ocho Rios in Jamaica. We explored the island, ate fabulous food and relaxed on the beach with chilled Rum Punches! Following our Caribbean vacation, we jetted off to New York City, where we spent three days taking in the sites and exploring as husband and wife. Neither of us had been to either place, so it was an amazing way to begin the adventure of life together,” the couple said.
