Westin at Lake Las Vegas – Samantha + Scott – Las Vegas Wedding Videographers

Samantha is a photojournalist, and Scott is a media relations director at a public relations and marketing firm.

They first met while working at a newspaper in St. George, Utah. Scott was working as reporter when Samantha was hired as a photographer. They spent time getting to know each other while covering a variety of news assignments. We immediately realized that they had a lot in common. During the first few months of our relationship, they spent a great deal of time at one of the few local bars in St. George. While it was not the nicest bar, they always had a great time sharing stories and making each other laugh late into the evening.

“We will never forget the overwhelming sense of joy we both felt when we saw each other for the first time on our wedding day. Prior to the ceremony, we took photos on a nearby bridge at The Westin at Lake Las Vegas. It was the perfect setting for our first moment together on the most important day of our lives,” Samantha and Scott recalled.

“There were so many details of our wedding day that we will forever cherish. One of our favorite moments was when we did our couple portraits after the ceremony. It was quiet, low-key and although our amazing photographers were with us, it was one of the few times in the day it felt as though it was ‘just us’. Two other favorite memories were when our guests had an impromptu dance-off to Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat it’ and our sparkler send-off at the end of the night. These two memories were filled with all of our loved ones having a great time and creating an unforgettable night for us,” said the couple.

“One piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding is not to become overwhelmed with the details. The large decisions, such as the venue and key vendors, are important to take time to consider, but the smaller details are forgotten before the night is over. As an example, while planning the wedding, we spent hours deciding what music we thought we would like to hear during the reception. As it turns out, we chose an amazing DJ who realized what music our guests were enjoying, and he ran with it. There was not a seat filled during our reception because everyone was having an amazing time on the dance floor,” Samantha and Scott explained.

“The main reason we chose The Westin at Lake Las Vegas as our wedding venue was the scenery. Having both grown up in Las Vegas, we wanted a visually stunning atmosphere that did not include the Strip,” the couple said.

Studio ATG photographyDJ Mike Fox and Memory Lane Video were the best decisions we made in terms of our vendors. Photographers Trish and Jared McMillen of Studio ATG provided us with the most extraordinary photos and a level of service beyond our expectations. Likewise, DJ Mike Fox met with us in person and held a number of conversations before the wedding to ensure everything was flawless. Throughout everything, Memory Lane Video’s staff were in the thick of it all without being obtrusive. We are excited to see our final video,” explained Samantha and Scott.

“Samantha’s aunt, who works in the wedding industry, strongly encouraged us to meet with Memory Lane Video. After viewing samples of the company’s work, it became obvious that having an incredible video of such a memorable day would be worthwhile,” Scott said.

“Now that the wedding has commenced, we certainly felt the stress of planning a wedding. We recognized the importance of focusing on the key elements and allowing our trusted vendors to handle many of the smaller details,”explained the couple.

“Couples need to enjoy the planning but let the experts be the experts. Trying to control every detail of your wedding is a recipe for disaster. We would also advise people to take their time when researching vendors. Don’t rely solely on Internet reviews and word of mouth. It is important to meet with these vendors and get to know them,” Samantha and Scott said.

“When we first saw examples of Memory Lane Video’s work, we knew the company would be a perfect fit for our wedding. We were thrilled to have such a professional team of videographers at our wedding. The Memory Lane Video team succeeded in covering virtually every aspect of the reception without interrupting the festivities,” recalled the couple.

“As we grow old together, we want to have the opportunity look back and relive the happiest day of our lives. While the memories of our wedding day will never fade, having a professionally produced video will allow us to remember many of the smaller details,” said Samantha and Scott.

“We spent a week in Negril, Jamaica for our honeymoon. This was the perfect destination for a relaxing and romantic honeymoon. We had a perfect week together on a beautiful beach with white sand and crystal clear water,” the couple said.
