Christ the King – Sami Jo + Jonathan – Las Vegas Wedding Videographers

This story begins with a man by the name of Jonathan, currently working at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas & strives to become a part of the LVMPD as a police officer or corrections officer. Then we have Sami Jo, currently a student at UNLV and finishing up her final year as an elementary education major, taking on her role as a teacher in fall of 2016.

The two met way back in 4th grade attending Charlotte Hill Elementary, but destiny had already chosen its path. It was the week after graduated high school that they had met officially again. Sami Jo happened to be walking the strip with her cousins while Jonathan happened to be driving down the strip in his jeep at the same time. “We saw each other and later that night, Jonathan messaged me on Facebook where we talked until 5am!” Happily said Sami Jo.  The very next night is where their first date took place. They went from playing pool at a pool hall to Carl’s Jr for milkshakes and even drove to the top of a parking garage to see the entire strip. Sadly, Sami Jo had a curfew therefore Jonathan walked her home, “Ending the night with a kiss on my cheek!” said Sami Jo with a big smile.

Memory Lane Video asked our new married couple to share something they most remembered from their wedding day and we were happy to hear. “It was actually from the day before during our rehearsal. We had a huge BBQ and field day with our bridal party which was so much fun! Our bridesmaids and groomsmen got to know each other and it was like elementary school all over again, with an adult fun twist!” Laughed Sami Jo and Jonathan.

Our newly weds also wanted to share with us their three favorite details from their wedding as well, “ first would have to be our photo wall, with the help of my aunt, who had also helped us with our cake. It is similar to a photo booth, but had frames with all of our dearest family members on their wedding days, which turned out really awesome. It was truly a heart-warming emotion asking our grandparents for their wedding day photos because it made them feel like a big part of our wedding in such a unique and different way.” Emotionally said Sami Jo.

“The second favorite was our wedding favors, giving out little succulents with signs that said Please Take One and Let Love Grow. We still have guests tell us that they are growing strong.” Said Sami Jo and Jonathan.

“If we had to choose a third favorite it would have to be the table that we had decided dedicate to loved ones who had passed away. It was so special to have them still be present at our wedding, more than just our hearts, but spirits as well.” Said with a tear of joy.

Memory Lane Video always likes to ask our couples to share some advice for future newly weds to be and this is what Sami Jo and Jonathan would like to share with everyone. “ Let people help you! I was scared to let someone else help because I wanted everything exactly like I had envisioned, but you just have to let go and everything will turn out perfect! Try not to stress and don’t spend thousands and thousands of dollars. Find things that you think are really important and put your money towards that. We realized that a lot of people don’t notice the little details that you do, so do what makes you happy and don’t worry about what your guests will think.”

In choosing their venue, Christ the King Catholic Church, the deciding factor was that it was special. “Two of my uncles got married there and my mothers memorial service was there. Even the same priest, Father Bill gave all the services to them as well as Jonathan and I. Father Bill has been around our family for over 50 years and it was truly a blessing to have him marry us, as well as, Jonathan completely supported the decision believing it was very special.” Shared Sami Jo

In asking our two lovebirds about their vendors they chose, they shared, “We loved everything and every one of our vendors. Our photographer, Brittany Smallwood from Brittany Win Photography, is a family friend taking the most beautiful photographs. Aunt Leslee made our cake and it turned out to be breathtaking! We also had an amazing DJ from Soundbite Productions who made sure that the music we requested was played and that everyone had a great time. We could not have chosen a better wedding team than all of the amazing people we had.”

“We found Memory Lane Video on Wedding Wire, reading their several great reviews, we were set on checking them out! We met with John and the craftsmanship that we saw in the videos, completely blew us away!” Shared Jonathan. “He showed us things that we have never seen done before and when we left the meeting, we were pretty sure about booking with Memory Lane Video. By the time we got home, we called John and let him know we were IN!” said with great excitement from Sami Jo and Jonathan.

Memory Lane Video was so amazing throughout the whole process and especially on the day of our wedding! Everything was stress-free, knowing that we had 99 problems that we could worry about, but they did not want to be one of them and they weren’t at all.  Tony was with the girls and myself while Fausto was with Jonathan and the guy’s throughout everything.  They made sure they got everything on film to be able to create our amazing video. We remember that during the cake cutting, we shoved cake into each others faces and they came up filming it while afterwards, we were saying to ourselves how awesome that was and that we couldn’t wait to see that in our video!” laughed Sami Jo and Jonathan.

“We believe that video is highly important because it truly allows you to relive this rare moment in life. Looking back and living the whole day all over again is something just amazing!”

Sami Jo and Jonathan spent their honeymoon in the Eastern Caribbean Cruise. They went exploring to the Bahamas, St Thomas and Tortola as well as eating the many choices of good food and partying during the night. “It was amazing!” Shared Sami Jo and Jonathan.

Memory Lane Video, Las Vegas Wedding Videographers,  would like give special thanks to Sami Jo and Jonathan in choosing Memory Lane Video to capture their special day. It was a pleasure being there with you both and we send you our best wishes and safest in travels. Congratulations to Sami Jo and Jonathan, live life happily together as one.
