Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino – Nicole + Christopher – Las Vegas Wedding Videographers
Back in July of 2014, Nicole had sent us an inquiry about filming her wedding at the Green Valley Ranch. Both Chris & Nicole are not only full time students but also work in the Hotel industry as dealers. Chris is studying Political Science in hopes of going to Law School one day, and Nicole is busy pursuing her teaching at UNLV. Even though each of them have such a hectic schedule, let me tell you they planned an amazing wedding at the Green Valley Ranch. With such a robust schedule & their busy lives, how did this couple first meet? We had to find out.
The couple first met back in 2006 when Nicole first moved to Las Vegas. She had only been here a few weeks, when a group of girls went out to the Hard Rock Hotel. Nicole went up to the craps table, where she thought she recognized someone. The craps table employs three dealers, of which, Chris had been one. Instant chemistry forced Chris to extend his hand to Nicole and introduce himself. Love at first sight? Chris admits that for him it was ‘love at first sight’ – he recalls telling coworkers on his break that he had met the woman of his dreams. But wait, there’s more……
Fast forward to 2010, FOUR YEARS LATER, when Nicole began working at the Hard Rock Hotel. A co-worker organized a white water rafting trip and invited a few colleagues, of which one of them was Chris. Destiny for sure. The rest from there is history.
So what about their first date? Nicole recalls: “We had our first date at Mandalay Bay Beach. We went to a Sublime with Rome concert. I remember when he insisted on picking me up at my house and driving me. It was very sweet because I lived way across town on the North West side. He got his car detailed before he picked me up! We got to the beach at Mandalay Bay and we bought one of those huge beach towels to sit on. I remember grabbing his leg in excitement and although he showed no signs of pain at the time, he later admitted he was in agony because he had just begun the process of getting a full sleeve of roses tattooed around his thigh. After the concert we played craps for a while and I was thoroughly impressed by Chris’s ability to throw the dice! He won us each $500 bucks! After we won our millions, we had a bite to eat at the café and then he took me home. He was a perfect gentleman.” Sounds like a beautiful evening indeed, Nicole.
May 2015 Nicole & Chris decided to tie the knot and join as one as husband & wife. Planning any wedding involves the most stressful decision of choosing a venue. After an extensive search of the usual golf course, country clubs, etc. It was Tara, from Scheme Events, that helped them choose the perfect canvas for their wedding. She introduced the couple to the Green Valley Ranch Resort – the couple fell in love. It was perfect because the couple could have their outdoor ceremony along with their indoor reception inside the Lobby Bar. Nicole described Chris’ reaction, “I will never forget Chris’s expression when we walked through the giant white doors leading into the Lobby Bar entrance. I hadn’t seen him that excited about anything since he proposed. The uniqueness of the space was definitely the selling point. Well, that and that my fiancé was finally excited about wedding stuff!”
The wedding day holds many fond memories for the couple. For Nicole it was their first dance. The couple performed their choreographed first dance to “I’ve had the Time of My Life” from the movie Dirty Dancing. Nicole shared the moment, “We rehearsed and practiced so much that it was like second nature to just do it. Chris led the dance beautifully and we nailed each and every lift, turn, and especially the big drop at the end! Kim, with a Perfect Wedding Dance our dance instructor, would have been proud.”
Another moment Nicole recalled was the moment that her father handed Chris her hand to him and whispered, ‘She is your responsibility now…..its Chris’ job to love her, care for her, and protect her’ as Nicole’s father had when she was a little girl.’
Their wedding was the complete deal, so many beautiful details, the color scheme, the flowers, the sweetheart table, ceremony site set up, and the intimate reception, just perfect size and intimate.
Behind every wedding are a team of vendors that silently execute every detail to pull it all together. Scheme Events was the glue that held everything together. When Nicole discovered the wedding planning company, she fell in love – the gorgeous pictures on their site were truly inspiring. Tara was Nicole & Chris’ point lead designer for the wedding. Vision. I wanted elegance with a little garden vibe. It was like Tara was in my brain! She knew how to fill in the gaps where I was lacking. She understood that I wanted a level of formality while still maintaining that fun and personal vibe. I told her I wanted a princess wedding under a budget and she seriously made it happen.”
