Yvonne and Matthew first noticed each other at one of Yvonne’s music gigs at the Downtown Grand Hotel. The two quickly became friends and before they knew it, their friendship blossomed into the relationship that they share today! As soon as they realized their feelings for each other, they went on their first date to the Town Square just off the Las Vegas Strip to have dinner and drinks afterwards. There was never a dull moment between them! From the start of their date to hours after, they never stopped talking to each other.
When Matthew felt like it was time to ask Yvonne to be his wife, the two traveled to Yvonne’s hometown of Olympia, Washington for Christmas in 2014. While dating, Yvonne would always tell Matthew stories about how she would walk around the lake by the Capitol building. Therefore, she was extremely excited to take him to the lake that she grew up with and show him the amazing views. And that was where Matthew proposed to Yvonne! Right at the edge of the lake with the Capitol building in the background. They remember that it was a super cold morning but they would not change anything because it was “so peaceful, beautiful, and romantic”.
Yvonne and Matthew chose to get married on January 23, 2016 because they were looking for the perfect date that was after the holiday season and wanted all their family and friends to attend the wedding. Furthermore, Matthew’s birthday falls on April 23rd, and it is running joke that his number is ‘23’. Soon after they saw that January 23rd fell on a Saturday and they knew that it was the right day to get married.
The couple chose Emerald at Queensridge as their venue because they absolutely loved the warm hospitality the Emerald’s staff showed them during their visit. It was something that the couple did not receive from any other venue in Las Vegas. The loved how beautiful and spacious the whole venue was and how they could customize the lighting to fit their color needs.
Matthew and Yvonne learned about Memory Lane Video by searching around the internet. After looking more into what Memory Lane could offer, they wanted to book right away. Once they had their consultation, they knew that without a doubt that Memory Lane was the perfect wedding video vendor for them. On the day of their wedding, Yvonne and Matthew admired how professional and fun the Memory Lane team was. They said that “once the questions and takes were done, we never had to worry about them being in the way”. The couple would like to tell future clients that “getting a video of your wedding is so important” because on the wedding day “you spend so much time running around that by the end of the night, you realize you have missed everything”. By having the wedding filmed, it captures some of the things that you may have missed and helps you relive the night all over again.
Apart from Memory Lane Video, Yvonne and Matthew admired Gayle at Blossoms by Gayle because Gayle was “such a joy to work with!” They were pleased with her work, personality, and attention to detail.
For the future, Matthew and Yvonne plan on creating beautiful memories in the house that they bought together! They also plan on strengthening their careers and look forward to expanding their family!
