The proposal was charming and fun. Daryl planned out an evening of events and hid all the details from Shanee. The evening started by meeting Shanee’s best friend Kat and her boyfriend at the entrance to the “High Roller” observation wheel at the Linq in Las Vegas. Once on the wheel, they started to enjoy the time together and the view of the Las Vegas lights. By this time Daryl was incredibly nervous, because as you could imagine, he had an engagement ring in his pocket, and he is terrified of heights!!! Heading to the top of the wheel, the time had come for surprise number 2!. Daryl got down on one knee and asked, “Shanee, will you marry me?” We all know the answer was, “YES, oh my gosh, kiss me, YES!!” The look on Shanee’s face was one that Daryl could never forget: pure love and excitement, with a smile from ear to ear. She was so happy that the first thing she did was pull him in for a big, embracing hug and a loving kiss.

We wanted to have an August wedding to make it easier for Shanee’s family from Israel to attend. So when we met with the Rabbi about possible dates in August, he mentioned that August 6th was Tu’ B’Av.  This date is the Jewish Day of Love!! The rabbi said it was to be a “great day for a wedding.” Easy, peasy!!! August 6, 2017, was decided.

There were so many factors that went into deciding where our venue was going to be. Shanee must have gone on hundreds of venue tours. We just couldn’t find that perfect spot. Daryl wanted a beautiful outdoor ceremony, and Shanee wanted a beautiful reception hall. It needed to be big too, able to fit over 200 guests. Finally, we went to MEET Las Vegas, we went on the tour and loved the space. It was big enough; it had a beautiful outdoor ceremony location and a fully customizable indoor reception area.

Daryl’s favorite thing is always going to be food, and even more so than that, he loves dessert. We splurged a little on our dessert table from Masterpiece Cuisine, and it was worth it. Although food, drink, and the music was all money well-spent, Shanee would probably say her “worth it!!” moment came when she saw the pipe and drape lit up with twinkle lights. It changed up the whole feel of the room and gave us the most romantic backdrop for pictures throughout the night.

We had chosen quite literally the “Dream Team” when it came to our vendors. We seriously had the best of the best. If we had to choose one vendor to say we couldn’t live without, we just couldn’t do it! Our photographer Doug from Mindy Bean Photography was an absolute rock star. He took the most amazing pictures of us from start to finish.

Masterpiece Cuisine was also truly phenomenal. All the planning and preparation for months and their day- of-execution was flawless. We have but one word to describe the food, “delicious”!!! Seriously one of the best decisions we made, I cannot imagine our wedding without them.

John from Memory Lane was freaking fantastic!! He was professional, accessible, and responsive. Their videos are so high-quality, out-of-this-world, that there was just no other option than to choose Memory Lane. Everyone we talked to that chose Memory Lane for a video was blown away by their whole package and everyone that didn’t wish they did. We didn’t think it could happen, but on the day of our wedding, Memory Lane exceeded our expectations even further! They were so professional, calm, relaxed, and flexible. The team blended in flawlessly and naturally into the whole timeline of events. The guys were friendly and funny, too. It was effortless to be natural and fun with the Memory Lane team.

We learned early on that some couples skip out on video for their wedding. Everything you spend on for the wedding is to your guests. The food, the music, the drinks, the photographer…all of that is to entertain your guests and capture the night with beautiful photos. The video is utterly and comprehensively for you. It is a way to capture the moments that photos just don’t get…the quiver in your voice when you talk about how much you love this person, the feelings of pride and joy when you make your grand entrance, the ecstasy that is dancing at the reception. Those are memories you want to relive together for years to come. Videos with MemoryLane take you back to all the feelings from your special day every time you watch the video.
