Los Willows, California – Gernine + Nicolas – Las Vegas Wedding Videographers
Gernine works as a Registered Nurse for a living, and Nicolas is a Transportation Security for TSA.
The way Gernine and Nicolas met, was through mutual friends in Hawaii. Gernine was initially dating someone else but she and Nic became friends and stayed in touch when Nic moved to California for college. Some time after Gernine and her boyfriend broke up, she visited family in California, met up with Nic, and they realized they wanted to be more than just friends! They had a long-distance relationship for a year, until Nic moved back to Hawaii to be with his one and only: Gernine.
When asked about the most memorable thing from their wedding, Gernine responded “The most memorable thing from our wedding day was being able share it with our family and friends. We live in Hawaii but we chose to get married in California because most of our family members live there. Not only was it wonderful to be able to share it with them, we even had family and friends travel from other states (Hawaii, Texas, Illinois, etc…) and other countries (England, the Philippines, Nigeria) to celebrate with us.” The couple also added “One moment we still can’t stop thinking about was when Reverend Don pronounced us husband and wife. We had been together for so long (over ten years) before the wedding and we already felt kind of married during the last few years but that pronouncement made it feel real.” Gernine and Nicolas have never been more happy.
The couple was happy to explain their top three favorite details from their wedding. The couple explained that “The three details from the wedding that were our favorites were: 1) The venue (Los Willows was gorgeous. Everything about it, from the lake to the B&B, was beautiful and we are so happy that we chose to get married there. Being able to surprise our guests by coming in via the roadster (Nic) and the boat (Gernine) was pretty cool too.); 2) The flowers (Karyn Wloczewski from Blooming Grace did a wonderful job with all the arrangements. The centerpieces in particular came out exactly as we wanted them to.); 3) The food (We were very happy with how tasty everything came out.”
It’s incredibly important to plan ahead! Gernine an Nic suggested “If we could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, it would be to get a wedding planner/coordinator especially for the day of the wedding. Kendra from Los Willows was amazing. She was so organized and on top of everything. I never felt rushed or stressed on the wedding day and everything turned out well.”
Choosing a venue may seem like the hardest decision a bride has to make. The couple’s family influenced where the venue ended up taking place. Gernine explained that “We wanted the venue for the ceremony and the reception to be the same and we wanted a vineyard in Southern California because most of our family members live there. We visited a number of vineyards in Temecula and Fallbrook but Los Willows stood out to us because of its beautiful grounds, including its lake and its B&B.”
It’s also tough choosing vendors for a wedding! Gernine explained that “We thought that all of our vendors were great, but one we were especially happy with was our officiant, Reverend Don Toshach. He made us feel at ease and he made our guests laugh and feel comfortable. From the early stages of wedding planning until the days right before the ceremony, he was always exceptionally quick at replying to emails and phone calls.”
When asked about how of Memory Lane Video came across the couple’s choices, they couple remarked “We found Memory Lane Video from Google searches. We loved the unique look and feel of their videos. No two sample videos looked the same and they seemed very professional and cinematic.”
Looking back at weddings will always be something a happily married couple will enjoy. There’s a lot to look back at, but Nic and Gernine explained that “Now that the wedding has commenced, we learned how grateful we are to everyone that helped us pull it off. From our parents to our godparents, our bridal party to our vendors, it takes a lot of work to plan a wedding and we couldn’t have done it without any of them. Having a coordinator for the day of the wedding was probably the most important factor in the day going smoothly. Also, there is really nothing we could name that was not worth the stress. Truthfully, we didn’t feel particularly stressed out during any phase of the wedding (from the planning to the day of), which has to be a testament to the quality of help we received from everyone.”
In order to avoid stress, Gernine suggested that “One piece of advice we can provide to future couples on planning a wedding is to take the planning one step at a time so you don’t put too much on your plate too quickly. Make an organized timeline of when things need to be chosen and done and try to stick to it. Decide on a budget and pick a date first, for example. Invitations and menu decisions can come later.”
“We booked Memory Lane Video’s services because of the professional quality of their videos.” said the couple.
The couple explained that “We can’t really remember now the names of the other five or six videography companies we considered for our wedding. We do remember watching many video samples from their websites, but we knew early on that the quality of Memory Lane’s videos was a cut above. Many of the videos that we watched from other companies seemed very amateur, and while some clients may go for that type of look and feel, we wanted our wedding video to be more special. We remember thinking initially that Memory Lane’s videos felt like mini-Hollywood movies and that definitely appealed to us. It was that cinematic quality that ultimately made us choose Memory Lane over everyone else.” They were very content with their final selection!
To the couple, the most admirable thing about Memory Lane Video was “On the day of the wedding, we admired how comfortable Memory Lane made us feel, especially during the interviews. They were able to work around everything that was going on and they were very professional.”
Wouldn’t you love to capture the look on your yet to be husband’s face as you walk down the aisle? “Videos are an important part of capturing special moments. Of course photos are great and also necessary, but videos can tell a bigger part of the story. You can relive a special moment or day by watching a video. There’s nothing like hearing others’ words about you playing in the background while you watch footage of a special day. There’s nothing like being able to watch yourself and your spouse saying your vows to each other again to conjure up feelings from your wedding day. And when your wedding video quality is as good and professional as Memory Lane’s, how can you go wrong? Also, when we were planning our wedding, we asked our married friends and family what they regretted the most about their wedding day. The answer we most frequently heard was, “not having a videographer”. explained the couple. The core significance of the couple’s answer: get a videographer!
Discussing the couple’s honeymoon was very exciting. Gernine and Nic explained “We honeymooned in Paris. We are both tennis fans and watching the French Open was on our bucket list. Our honeymoon dates coincided with the tournament and Paris is the city of love, so really it was a no-brainer for us. Anyway it was as amazing and beautiful as we expected and we can’t wait to go back!”
