Ed is a Senior Associate at an Auditing Firm and Alice is Relationship Manager with a Private Bank. They were introduced by a mutual friend in San Francisco.  She was Ed’s co-worker at the time and Alice’s good friend from her college days at USF.

“It’s hard to pick just one moment in our entire day but the most meaningful moment would be the tea ceremony where Ed and I paid our respects to our parents and his grandmother.  It’s an old Chinese tradition but one that is significant and endearing. My 3 favorite details from our wedding are, 1, the arrangement of the rooms -ceremony, reception, and dancing/terrace area. The ceremony and reception room were dedicated to my style of “city girl” with touches of gold & crème while Ed’s style was reflected in the lounge/terrace where the Texas country side was reflected from the haystack and barrels of peanuts. 2, we were able to incorporate our “kids” aka our dogs in our wedding.  Raku and Happy walked down the aisle as our ring bearers and hung out with us throughout the day. It would not have been the same without them on our special day and 3, the hand rolled cigar bar and selection of scotches – Ed and I are huge scotch drinkers and we bought 8 bottles of our favorite bottles from Scotland.  We also hired a cigar roller so that everyone can enjoy the pairing of a good cigar with a nice scotch,” recalled Alice.

“To couples planning their wedding, a piece of advice I would like to share would be to hire a wedding planner to put your wedding vision together.  Make sure your timeline allows for you to take pictures as a couple because that day’s magic is priceless.  And limit your outfit changes to two. It just takes away your time to be with your friends and family,” said Alice.

“Service and quality is extremely important to us. The Mandarin Hotel met our expectations on the quality of the food, location of the hotel and the outstanding hospitality service of the staff.  We enjoyed ourselves from the moment we checked in to our beautiful suite to our wedding night.  We can’t wait to go back for our anniversary,” said Alice and Ed.

“We did our research for all the videographers in Las Vegas and Memory Lane Video came up constantly as the number one company to hire.  Plus, the first virtual meeting with Ricky was a great example of the company’s capabilities.  We were thoroughly impressed with their use of technology,” explained the couple.

“Now that the wedding has commenced, I’ve learned to re-do my timeline. There was too much of a gap in the morning so we didn’t have enough time to take photos before the ceremony. The event throughout the day picked up speed so while our morning was relaxing; the ceremony arrived in no time.  There’s very little downtime to waste and the day just flew by.  Make sure your coordinator is on top of everything,” Alice recalled.

“Sharing the day of plans with your family so they know what to expect was most important and having the bridal party and family close by so you’re not wasting a lot of time chasing them down for the first look.  Las Vegas’ hotels are too big so it wasted a lot of time finding people.  We were not stressed out at all during the day.  Our mentality was whatever happens on that day is out of our control.  We did the best planning we could so let’s enjoy our special day,” explained Alice and Ed.

“To future couples planning their wedding, some advice I can give would be to figure out what your strengths and weaknesses are as a couple.  Find a wedding planner/coordinator that can help you with your weakness. For instance, Ed and I are both analytical and we were good at researching vendors and finalizing our budgets.  Our planner was perfect for creating our beautiful space while realistically staying in our budget,” said the couple.

“I spoke with a few brides and those who did not hire a videographer really regretted their decision.  I didn’t want an ordinary video that looked homemade so after all the research, Memory Lane Video stood out as the best.  Since our wedding, I’m glad I hired your services.  The day went by so quickly.  Photos are fine but it doesn’t capture the day like a live video could. On the day of the event, I remember how discreet and professional they were at the wedding. We didn’t even realize they were there most of the time. Our timeline was off a little bit at the end and they stayed an extra 30 minutes so that we can shoot our cake cutting and first dance. Thanks guys,” Alice recalled.

“Pictures are great at capturing still shots throughout the day.  They are beautiful moments in time. But I know the video will capture all the live moments that we did not see as the wedding couple.  The day will go by so quickly and the video is just the perfect way of taking yourself back to that special day.  I haven’t seen my wedding video yet but I know I hired Memory Lane Video because your reputation in Las Vegas is stellar,” said Alice.

The couple took a mini honeymoon after the wedding to the Big Island where they stayed in Kona and Hilo for 5 days.  That was just for them to regroup and relax after such a big event. In April of 2014, they’re taking a month long trip to Europe for their honeymoon.  They’ll be visiting Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg, Venice and Florence.  Ed and Alice love to travel and they’ve never explored Easter Europe.  Their goal is to take one long international trip per year to a new place so they can explore and reconnect as a couple.
