OK, this is one insane story on how Deepa & Eric met each other. Hold on tight!
Imagine you are at a stoplight, its Halloween, and you meet the love of your life. The one you marry! Well that’s exactly what happened for this couple. Deepa who is third year Family Medicine Resident at the University School of Medicine & Eric, an engineer with the Clark County Fire Department are an awesome couple.
On Halloween weekend, back in 2012, Deepa & her girlfriend both left the Palms Hotel to head to the strip to grab dinner. At the intersection of Flamingo & Arville, a fire truck pulled up next to Deepa’s car with Eric in the driver seat. Deepa looked over and thought to herself that Eric looked extremely handsome. Deepa impulsively gained his attention by screaming out of her car. Eric was amused and gave Deepa his number, and the rest is history. WOW!
The first date took place on Election Day at Kabuki Restaurant in Town Square. The two laughed and enjoyed each other’s company. Deepa was most impressed with Eric’s honesty. He shared with Deepa his previous failed marriage, about his kids, and laid out on the table his desire for traits he sought in a partner.
The couple’s engagement/proposal is something taken from a movie script. The two shopped for the ring, but did not purchase it. Instead, they placed it on hold. Deepa had early morning commitments at the hospital so she often went to bed early to get ready for her 5 AM wakeup call at the University Medical Center Hospital. She had begun to snooze off, as Eric began turning the lights on & off in a panic. Flustered, he mumbled, ” Are you sure you want to spend the rest of your life with me?” He then started fumbling through his basketball shorts and pulls out a ring box and opens it as he silently crying; you know that cry, the one where tears are just coming out and there is absolutely no sound? She saw the ring they had chosen together and became emotional. . He said, “Marry me, please marry me” and of course she said “YES!”
Since the couple initially met at Halloween, naturally, they chose October as their wedding month. Cherry Night Club was the first venue the couple visited and fell in love with immediately. Not your typical golf club ballroom, Cherry is equipped with professional lighting and had a unique & seamless indoor and outdoor appeal.
Scheme Events was the couple’s wedding & event design team. Tara is the epitome of professionalism and coordinated the wedding for both of the families’ dreams. Deepa shared, “Tara was able to take Pinterest photos and my random disorganized thoughts and create the most romantic and seamless wedding day.”
Deepa & Eric also shared with us how they learned about our services, they had this to say, ” We have known about Memory Lane and your incredible work for several years. We have had friends who were former clients and have seen their wedding videos and when we got engaged it was a no brainer to ask you guys to capture our special day. Your videos make the viewer relieve the most beautiful, comical, and real moments of that couple’s day. One word capture’s Memory Lane’s work, “magical.” The most stand out quality of Memory Lane on the day of had to be their composure. I know that Eric and I were super nervous but the guys that were there with us were actually really calming!“
