Stephen and Gladiola both work in banking. Stephen works as a private client banker for Chase and Gladiola works as a personal banker for Citi.
Stephen and Gladiola met when they were coworkers at Chase. Their first date was set up by another coworker at the time that had planned on the 3 of them going to eat sushi together after work. He then decided “not to go” and Stephen and Gladiola continued on to what ended up being their first date.
“The most memorable thing we can remember about our wedding day was seeing each other for the first time as our ceremony began. This was a moment that both Stephen and I felt was very special particularly because of the support from all of our family and friends. One moment that we cannot stop thinking about was our introduction as Mr. and Mrs. and then proceeding immediately into our first dance together. It felt as if all of our time and effort in planning the wedding had finally reached a point where we could just sit back and take everything in as husband and wife,” recalled the couple.
“One of our favorite details from our wedding were the speeches given during our toast. Another was seeing all of our friends and family that came to support us. And we loved the look of our venue and how all of our hard work came together,” Gladiola and Stephen said.
“If we could offer one piece of advice for other couples it would be to spend some time alone after the ceremony and before the reception begins to talk with each other and take in the special day,” said the couple.
“The key factors to choosing our venue were the cost and layout. We had a lot of guests that were attending our wedding and we needed a location that would fit everyone but also wouldn’t break the bank.The Terrace provided us with everything that we were hoping to get in our venue and more,” Gladiola and Stephen explained.
“We were really happy with all of the vendors that we chose, they all did a great job. A vendor that we were particularly glad we chose was The Ugly Duckling Photo Booth. We highly recommend getting the USB that has all the pictures the guests took so we can look back at all of the great and funny pictures. Also our D.J Albert Gruve was great; he did an excellent job throughout our whole reception and my husband and I were so thankful to have him there. In addition, our photographer Stephen Salazar and his assistant were wonderful. They did such an amazing job especially with the amount of people in our wedding party! We would choose all of these vendors again,” said the couple.
“We found out about Memory Lane Video while searching for venues on the internet. There was a video they had shot at a location we were considering and we were amazed by the quality and work of the video. We immediately knew we wanted them to shoot at our wedding and were lucky enough to book them,” Gladiola and Stephen recalled.
“Now that the wedding has commenced we learned that through all of the wedding planning and nonstop decision making that it is all worth it in the end. The things we thought were most important were getting married in our church and carrying on our traditions at both the church and the reception. Looking back there were some things that were not worth the stress such as what chairs to choose and who should sit where. Many details go unnoticed and they are all small details you will not remember 20 years from now,” said the couple.
“The advice we would provide to future couples getting married is that this day will go by extremely fast so do your best to enjoy every minute of it. Spend the extra money on a great photographer and videographer because at the end of the day this truly is all you will have to remember it by,” Gladiola and Stephen explained.
