JW Marriott Hotel – Leslie + Paul – Las Vegas Wedding Videographers

Paul and Leslie would be geeks for a living if they could. They’ve had no luck so far in finding anyone interested in paying them to play video games, read books, and watch action flicks. So to pay the bills, Leslie is an Intensive Care RN and Paul is an international package auditor for UPS.

As you may have guessed, Paul and Leslie are pretty awesome individuals, and met in a super awesome way. Playing World of Warcraft. That’s right, they met playing a video game. Paul wooed Leslie with his tech-y knowledge, and Leslie slowly but surely charmed Paul with requests for assistance in vanquishing bad guys. Paul and Leslie hit it off so well online that they decided a face to face meet up was a must. Impulsively, Leslie hopped on a flight to Chicago, and their  first date was actually when Paul rumbled up to O’hare International Airport in his Mustang to sweep Leslie off her feet!

The date may seem untraditional, but there must have been something to it, because 3 years later, Paul and Leslie got married in Las Vegas, NV in the company of their closest family and friends.

All weddings are magical, but let’s face it: everyone thinks their wedding was probably a little more special than most. Just ask Leslie and Paul (but honestly, theirs WAS pretty incredible). When asked about the most memorable part of their wedding, Paul and Leslie both agree that top honors have to go to the first dance where the DJ pre-recorded Leslie and Paul answering questions about their love for each other and then seamlessly inserted the audio into their song (HUGE shout out to Gabriel Ortiz from All EventsProductions for being such a creative DJ). But like all weddings, there were several moments and touches that absolutely made the day. 3 details that make Paul and Leslie’s wedding truly outstanding were the Maid of Honor’s speech, truly inspired floral design by Floral Couture, and Desert Skye’s bagpiper and drummer to escort the bride down the aisle.

As magical as they are, weddings take a lot of work! Just ask this couple. There were months of deliberations over  photography styles, save the dates magnets or postcards, which font to use on the invites and which flavor of frosting  is truly most delicious. If Paul and Leslie could offer one small bit of advice to future brides and grooms it’s don’t sweat the small stuff. Slow down and try to enjoy every aspect of your engagement and planning and actual wedding. Leslie points out that although these are great ideals to strive for, it’s just not reasonable to ask of a bride-to-be. Her ultimate advice ? Hire a wedding planner! Specifically ArchelRolwingEvents! If it didn’t seem totally weird to list Archel as one of her favorite details from the wedding, Leslie would have done it. This super talented wedding coordinator was key in so many really critical decisions, from finding the perfect venue to the perfect photographer (Danette with AmberlightCollective) to DJ to undergarments (yes… undergarments). In fact their coordinator was actually the one who convinced Paul and Leslie to pursue videography for the wedding. Like most couples trying to save some cash for their wedding, they were tempted to skimp on what can be perceived as a large ticket item. What a mistake that would have been!! Kind of like their first date, it was love at first sight for Leslie and Paul upon having a consultation with Memory Lane Video.  Every detail from the cozy couch in Memory Lane Video headquarters, the warm and personable approach, and of course the incredibly beautiful, incredibly creative cinematography, immediately make it clear that this is the company you want with you on one of the biggest days of your life. And it only gets better! Just when you think it’s too good to be true, that the actual DAY-OF videographers can’t  be as extraordinarily awesome as the team you’ve already met, but they were. They are just that incredible. No one blinks an eye when they show up to film and you’re dancing around in your underwear, discussing the merits of owning cats with your photographer, and missing a groomsmen. They make you feel like an old friend, and a cherished one at that. The team seamlessly melts into the background of your wedding and you know without a doubt that they’re capturing the things that you just can’t photograph. Things like the sound of your dad’s voice when he gets choked up during his toast, the energy of your guests as they watch you dance your first dance, the awful snort noise the bride makes when the groom shoves cake up her nose (Paul swears it was an accident). These are the magical elements of a wedding you can’t capture any other way. These are the moments that you’ll want to look at and relive for years to come. When it’s all said and done, what better way to cherish each moment of your special day than through exquisitely crafted cinematography from Memory Lane Video.

“We honeymooned right after the wedding, and we couldn’t make up our minds exactly where we wanted to go. So we went kinda everywhere. We started at Furnace Creek Inn in Death Valley National Park, next went to Disneyland and California Adventure, and then finally, we drove up the Oregon Coast for a few days. It was a lot of driving, but totally worth it,” said Leslie and Paul.
