Ryan and Liz met while Liz was working at the neighborhood restaurant. Ryan was a friend of one of Liz’s co-workers. They began talking just in time because a few weeks later, Liz left for 9 months to study abroad in Ireland!

Their first date was on Ryan’s 25th birthday. Nine years later, they chose to get married on Liz’s 30th birthday.  Ryan proposed to Liz on the first night of their vacation in the  Bahamas. He discussed the proposal with Liz’s parents prior to their vacation and he asked to borrow Liz’s mother’s family ring for the proposal.  The family ring was to serve as inspiration for of the engagement ring Ryan designed from scratch.

Liz did not see the proposal coming and was extremely shocked when Ryan asked her to marry him. Her response was “Are you f***ing serious?!… YES!”

Ryan and Liz agreed to get married on November 21st, which happened to be Liz’s 30th birthday, in Las Vegas. They chose their family and friends join them in Las Vegas to celebrate Liz’s birthday. However, what the family and friends did not know was that Ryan and Liz also came to Las Vegas to tie the knot. The couple wanted to make their wedding different and have a fun “elopement with friends”.

Since this wedding was a secret, Ryan and Liz snuck out to Las Vegas during the summer to scout a few venues. Because they did not want to have a traditional wedding, they knew that they did not want a chapel wedding. It simply was not for them. Their photographer told them about the Neon Museum. As soon as the couple saw the Neon Museum, they knew that it was the only place where they would get married. The outside museum gave the “feel” of Las Vegas without being a wedding chapel or a venue on the Las Vegas Strip.

For the two of them, the most memorable moment was waiting for their guests to get off the party-bus and turn around the corner. Even until this day, Ryan and Liz still talk about the feeling of anticipation they felt while waiting for their family and friends to see them in front of the neon signs. They recall their guests reactions when they realized what was actually happening. Ryan and Liz could not have been more ecstatic in how they pulled off their surprise wedding and everything that happened afterwards.

To avoid a large wedding expense, they decided to have their “mini” wedding with their close family & friends. They budgeted their expenses so that they could optimize the fun filled experience full of memories. Looking back on their special day, couple felt they budgeted well on their photographer & videography vendors.  The couple prioritized these two vendors because for them it was the only way to relive and share with others who attended their wedding.

Liz & Ryan could not recall how they came to learn about Memory Lane Video. However,  they do remember that Liz felt that they would regret not having a video to document their surprise Vegas wedding. They wanted to be able to see everyone’s reaction again & again and to be able to share their wedding with family & friends.

On the day of the wedding, the couple admired how flexible the Memory Lane team was when they learned about the unique wedding. Although the couple felt nervous before their surprise wedding, they were amazed how the team “rolled with it”. They couple were able to enjoy their special day without worrying about anything and had complete trust in Memory Lane’s abilities. Ryan and Liz chose Memory Lane because we fite their budgetand were available on their last minute decision to have their wedding filmed.

Ryan and Liz shared with  future couples that “you will NOT regret having a video.” The wedding day goes by so quick and smart phones can only capture so much with such low quality, you must have a professional  video to relive the entire wedding experience.

Apart from Memory Lane Video, Ryan and Liz were pleased with their photographers, Mike L. Photography. Mike and Courtney, their photographers,  were absolutely wonderful. Courtney was a wonderful source to  answer all the couple’s questions as their big wedding drew clos and was truly their unofficial wedding planner.

Liz & Ryan are  planning on having their honeymoon in South Africa on their one-year wedding anniversary!
