“Our proposal was very special! At the beginning of the year in 2016, Spencer mentioned a scavenger hunt that he wanted us to enter for a chance to win a trip to Hawaii. Of course, I thought there was no way we would win, so I asked how much it cost to enter the contest and he informed me it was $1000, so I said absolutely not because I always try to be the one to save money. When May came rolling around he mentioned the scavenger hunt again, and says I signed us up for the scavenger hunt and we are either doing it June 18th or sometime in September. I, of course, roll my eyes and say “Whatever, that’s fine just keep me posted.” So two weeks before June 18th he tells me we are doing the scavenger hunt on June 18th. The morning of June 18th arrives, our doorbell rings. An envelope awaits at our doorstep. “Love Hunt KC” is on the front of it. As I open the envelope, I pull out a list of rules and regulations, as well as two team t-shirts. Within that envelope, there were several other envelopes with numbers written on them. One of our main rules though was that we HAD to film our entire scavenger hunt and only one of us could have our cell phone. We packed our things up and began our scavenger hunt all around Kansas City.  After 6 long hours of a very intense scavenger hunt in which one of the rules stated “ answers need to be turned in by 5:30 pm and all contestants must be checked into the hotel by 6:00 pm“, it was time for the formal dinner where they would announce the winner.  As we were getting ready in the hotel, a letter was slipped under our door saying we were in a tiebreaker and had 1 more mission to complete the win. Instructions led us to the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts. While struggling with the infamous “Belafonte eye-watering syndrome”, Spencer found our last clue/mission. We sat there completing the last task (of course speedy fast because who wouldn’t want a free trip to Hawaii) and before I knew it, he was down on one knee. “ Will you make me the happiest man in the world?” he asked me. My amazing, sweet, loving, kind-hearted (shall I go on? You get the point, he’s incredible) man pulled off the most incredible proposal I have ever heard of. While in complete shock, I instantly began to cry and hug him. Soon after, we heard some crazy people cheering and clapping across the street a restaurant, who surprisingly enough ended up being some friends and family. While heading to the rooftop of the building we all decided to meet up on, I was surprised with a rooftop party full of all our close friends and family who had matching t-shirts on with our team name and on the back of the shirts read “SHE SAID YES! KRISTIN & SPENCER”. I felt like the luckiest girl alive! Spencer came up with the entire scavenger hunt from top to bottom on his own, he put so much time and effort into our engagement day and it truly showed because it was absolutely amazing!”

The couple was asked why they chose their venue for their day to which they responded with, We have experienced a couple weddings at Red Rock Resort before and we fell in love with it. The resort is so incredible! It is so modern and unique in its own way and our family has really grown to love it. Every time I walk through the chandelier entry it catches my breath! There is a part of Red Rock that feels like a part of a home for our family now. My brother Henry, my cousin Franki, and I have all gotten married there, and next year my younger brother Johnny plans to get married there. Red Rock has become our home away from home so it was the perfect venue for us. The Crimson room was the perfect match for us! My husband and I LOVE music and I love to dance so the whole set up just fit us perfectly. When I saw that they were able to open the back doors in the Crimson room, I fell in love. I knew I HAD to have that! Opening the back doors gives the room such an awesome look!”

As weddings tend to be more on the expensive side we asked the couple what they felt was money well spent. They answered, Kristin- “I think that money was well spent on our wedding planner, Paulina Clute. Paulina is incredible! This is the third wedding she has done for our family and from experience I can say that she goes above and beyond to do anything and everything you need her to do for you. She is such a hard worker! Anytime I had a question, needed to talk, she was available. If I had concerns, she figured them out for me. Paulina is so amazing at what she does; she made having a destination wedding in Las Vegas stress-free for me!”

Weddings are made up of a team of vendors that come together to make a couple’s wedding day the best it possibly can be. We wanted to know which vendor the couple was pleased with the most, they answered with, “The vendor we were most happy with was By Dzign . They did our flowers, linens, and decorations. I only met with them twice and I was so pleased with everything. I showed them pictures of exactly what I wanted for my flowers and decorations and they matched everything to the best of their ability. I was so in love with my flowers the day of my wedding, I felt like they could not have been more perfect! I loved the way they decorated the Crimson room for the reception. My dad told my mom that he felt like the decorations for our wedding were very “me” and when he saw them he could picture me. That is all I wanted, was for our wedding to make everyone think of us and remind everyone of us! The uplighting from our dinner tables was one of my favorite parts of the decorations. I truly loved everything about our decor, every accent we had was perfect!”

We asked the couple how they heard about Memory Lane Video and why they ended up choosing us to film their day. They answered with, “Spencer and I heard about Memory Lane Video through my cousin Franki Ferguson. She used Memory Lane for her wedding in 2016 at Red Rock Resort. I remember watching her “sneak peek” video and I loved it! I knew after seeing the sneak peak that I wanted to use Memory Lane for my wedding.”

We asked the couple thoroughly enjoyed about Memory Lane Video the day of their wedding and they answered with, What I admired most about Memory Lane was the employees and how friendly/patient they were. I was an emotional mess and they were so patient with me. Anytime I would open my mouth to answer their questions, I would cry and had to pause and take a break and they would just tell me to take my time and it was okay. Everyone was so friendly and they make you feel so comfortable.”

When asked to share some advice for other couples in regards to deciding whether or not they should book a videographer they answered, I feel having a videographer is so important to have at your wedding because they capture every emotion that you may forget happened. You get to flashback on those moments you cherish most in life, the ones you will never get to relive. You are guaranteed to have something to love and make you happy, something you get to hold on to and reflect back on whenever you want. Memory Lane can capture those moments and memories you want to hold on to forever!”
