Jesse and Rubie met during their last year of middle school. Both of them were extremely shy so they did not have the confidence to confess their feelings for each other. But luckily, Rubie built up the courage. Before the invention of text messaging, one of the only ways to communicate during school hours was through passing notes. Rubie wrote a note to Jesse confessing that she liked him. At that moment, they began dating. Nine months later, Jesse decided to end their young relationship for the fact that each  would be attending different schools. After two years, Jesse transferred to Vo-Tech, where Rubio was attending school. Once at the same school, he asked her out again hoping that they can pick up where they left off. However, Rubie declined stating she had a crush on someone else. Time flew by again and while shopping at Cardenas, Jesse and Rubie saw each other again. They communicated through Facebook and their love rekindled.

Even though they dated for quite a while during middles school, Rubie’s mother did not allow her to go on a date alone. It was ten years later, the two finally had their (long overdue) first date at the Japanese restaurant, Kyara.

Jesse never actually proposed to Rubie. They agreed to elope in Mississippi where Jesse was stationed for his military Basic training. This was their own special way of agreeing to be marrying each other.

They eloped in Mississippi on October 26, 2012, therefore, they picked October 27, 2015 to be their wedding day. They wanted to pick the 26th, but another couple had already chosen that day and the 27th was the next closest.

They decided to have their wedding in Las Vegas because it is both of their hometown. Being hours away from Las Vegas, they had to rely on the internet to pick the perfect venue for their wedding reception. When they finally decided on a venue, their desired wedding date (the 26th) had already been booked. It did not cause much of a problem to the couple because they loved the venue. It had the “Beauty and the Beast” theme that they were seeking thus they booked it for the 27th.

The most memorable moment for Jesse was when he saw how elegant Rubie looked while walking down the aisle. He felt like he was in a movie as he watched her. “It was too perfect” he says. For Rubie, her most memorable moment was the first look. It was something that can only be experienced one time. She loved how extremely handsome Jesse looked in his custom blue tuxedo.

Rubie believes that their money was well spent on her Disney Collection – Belle wedding dress, designed by Alfred Angelo. Belle is Rubie’s favorite Disney princess while growing up,  there wearing a version of Belle’s dress made her feel special. She shared that she “really did feel like a princess”.

The couple found out about Memory Lane Video through reading our reviews online. While reading & watching the blog posts on Memory Lane’s website, Rubie started to become emotional. Seeing Rubie cry while watching the videos sealed the deal and they booked with us. And after that experience, they knew that Memory Lane was the only video vendor for them. Rubie added that she could not “imagine not having Memory Lane” and that she would have probably regretted it.

One the day of the wedding, Jesse and Rubie admired how professional the videographers were. They loved the videographers’ humor and how they got along with everyone at their wedding. The videographers did everything in a timely manner while still managing to capture creative shots.

Jesse and Rubie would like to tell other couples that “capturing your wedding should be unforgettable”. Photos do capture the moment, but video captures the emotions as well.

“You get to relive it and experience all the emotions… and Memory Lane does just that,” Rubie says.

Apart from Memory Lane, the couple was very happy with Makeup in the 702 and their photographer. Makeup in the 702 was fast and professional with all their deadlines. The makeup artists knew exactly what Rubie was aiming for with her makeup and hair style. Their photographer, Jessica Singo, is a cousin of Rubie’s bridesmaid. They loved Jessica’s humor and professionalism.

In the future, Jesse and Rubie plan on traveling before they settle down. However once they do settle down and start a family of their own, they hope to find their home somewhere near the ocean or move back to their hometown of Las Vegas.
