We were on one of our regular trips to visit Chris’ family in New York. After having an early Christmas dinner with the family on City Island, we headed back to the house to watch the Soul Train awards. Someone suggested we take pictures before the show and we got a few shots of everyone together. Chris then suggested that just he and I take a few alone (which I thought was weird, why to get pics of just the two of us when we were visiting them, but whatever…) I started posing and cheesing and on the third shot, he proposed!

We knew we wanted to have our wedding in Las Vegas; we’ve always had a great time on our visits there. The JW Mariott in Summerlin is 15 minutes away from the Strip, the grounds are beautiful, the pool is relaxing, the restaurants and spa are wonderful, not to mention that all of the personnel from front desk to wait staff to event planners were amazing. The JW offers a wedding package that includes many top-rated vendors, this saved us a great deal of time and all the vendors lived up to their excellent reputations. Our guests said many times that the JW was their best ever trip to Vegas and quite a few have been back to the hotel since the wedding.

Tasha – The photo booth (Kayla and Dominik from Knight Sounds Entertainment ) ended up being a really big hit. We went back and forth on whether it was necessary or not, but everyone had so much fun with the wigs and props and the photos are priceless. We were even provided a scrapbook with copies of the pictures and handwritten messages from the guests, it was like a yearbook for the event.

Chris – The DJ (Jeremy from Knight Sounds Entertainment ), really created a sense of fun and togetherness, the dance floor was never empty and we loved the energy that Jeremy brought. An unexpected fun feature, Jeremy had all the guests form a circle around us, and we got to get hugs from everyone while “Why Can’t We Be Friends” by War played.

Both of us were so impressed with the time John took to explain who Memory Lane was, and how they were different from other videographers. Knowing that our day would be shot by people who were dedicated only to video and that everything would be handled in-house by their team, really convinced us that we were making the right choice. John was also willing to customize our package with some additional interview elements and I appreciated the different payment options. On the day of the event, John and his team were on time, efficient and attentive. We nearly forgot they were there. With so much going on, it was great to have one less thing to worry about.

When deciding whether or not to get a video, Chris and I reasoned that the best way to remember the day was to see and hear the action. Pictures are great, but there’s nothing like seeing the whole reception doing the Wobble together, watching the kiss happen, seeing how great your friends and family looked and to be able to hear the music and the laughter. We know we will treasure our video from Memory Lane for a long time to come!
